Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PaintPal, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian, you agree to these terms on behalf of your child.

In-App Purchases

PaintPal offers an optional one-time purchase that unlocks every premium coloring page. In the iOS app it is processed through Apple's App Store and charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase; on the web it is processed through Stripe. The unlock is permanent and can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple ID.

Subscription Information

PaintPal Premium is an auto-renewable subscription that unlocks unlimited video calls while drawing together, plus every premium coloring page. Anyone you invite to a room joins free. It is offered as a monthly plan and a yearly plan. The price shown in the app at the moment of purchase is the price charged, and prices may vary by region.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renew at any time in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions. Subscriptions bought on the web are managed through the "Manage subscription" link on the PaintPal home page. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Subscriptions purchased through the App Store are governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement: Terms of Use (EULA).

Refunds

Refund requests for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund through your Apple ID purchase history at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you experience technical issues with unlocked content, contact us and we'll help resolve it.

Restore Purchases

If you've previously purchased premium content, you can restore your purchases on any device signed into the same Apple ID by tapping "Already purchased? Restore" in the app.

Acceptable Use

PaintPal is designed for kids and families. Users agree to use the app respectfully and as intended. You may not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or misuse the app or its services.

User-Generated Content

Drawings created in PaintPal are your own. We do not claim ownership of your artwork. Drawings shared in collaborative rooms are visible to other participants in that room.

Service Availability

We strive to keep PaintPal running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

Limitation of Liability

PaintPal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of this app, except where prohibited by law.

Information We Collect

• Account Information: Your email address when you create an account (required to create drawing rooms)
• Camera & Microphone: Audio and video data for real-time video chat (transmitted live, never recorded or stored)
• Drawing Data: Stroke data for real-time collaboration (temporary, deleted when room closes)
• Device Information: Basic device identifiers for app functionality and crash reporting
• Product Usage Events: Anonymous events about how the app is used (for example, when a painting is started, saved, or when a purchase is made) so we can understand which features work well and improve the app. These events are stored in our own Supabase database and are never sent to third-party analytics providers.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide real-time drawing and video chat features
• To authenticate your account and restore purchases
• To improve app performance and fix bugs
• To respond to your support requests

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with:

• Apple: For in-app purchase processing
• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider
• LiveKit: For secure video chat infrastructure

Data Retention

Account data is retained until you request deletion. Drawing room data is temporary and deleted when the room closes. Video chat is transmitted in real-time and is not recorded or stored.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS) and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

PaintPal is designed for families and is safe for children. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent
• We recommend that parents or guardians create accounts and supervise their children's use of the app
• We do not serve behavioral advertising to users of any age
• Parents can review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's information by contacting us

Your Rights & Choices

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
• Corrections: Request corrections to inaccurate data

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information. Contact us to exercise your rights.

International Users

If you are accessing PaintPal from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the app. Your continued use of PaintPal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
